How to Help the Machines
From Associated Press
To help the Postal Service’s new machines read handwritten mail:
* Print numbers, but write street names and cities in cursive.
* Put ZIP Codes on the city/state line.
* Don’t let numbers touch.
* Refrain from excessive spacing.
* Don’t let the tail on a letter like G run into the line below.
* Keep address lines parallel to the bottom edge of the letter.
