What it is: Online counterpart to cable’s E! Entertainment Television. Features new content covering movies, TV and music. If it were on paper, it would be a hefty version of magazine Entertainment Weekly with the bitchiness of Movieline thrown in. Heavy on gossip. Longish features such as “Plastic Surgery Secrets of the Stars” can be surprisingly sharp. Many opportunities to link to other celeb or studio sites and to click for more info, including filmographies.

Comments: A mixed bag. In gossip, Ted Casablanca is snappy, but the “Monday Night at Morton’s” column by Ben Stein is flabby. Where are the editors in cyberspace? Filmographies aren’t always well-organized and current. But overall, a fun site that offers more depth than E! usually can give on air.
