Court Denies Bail for Woman in IRA Attack
A pregnant woman wanted for questioning in an IRA attack on a British army base in Germany has been denied bail.
Roisin McAliskey, the daughter of former nationalist lawmaker Bernadette McAliskey, nee Devlin, is facing extradition to Germany over the June bombing of the Osnabruck barracks. Nobody was injured in the Irish Republican Army attack, but buildings were damaged.
The central London court rejected McAliskey’s application for bail on Wednesday. McAliskey, 25, has been in prison without charge since November, awaiting a decision on the extradition. Activists claim that she is being mistreated and her unborn baby’s life is endangered. The baby is due in early May.
