Judge Pacht

Regarding the late Judge Jerry Pacht (obituary, April 4) we wish to add our thoughts to those of his many other friends and admirers.
Pacht’s distinguished law career--always illuminated by his absolute integrity--is confirmed by the words of his colleagues. We wish to remember him as a friend.
When Jerry would enter a room, it was a party; he brought light and joy and in the broadest sense, justice. We remember his twinkle of humor, we remember when his beautiful voice would burst forth in a Mozart aria or when he’d accompany himself on the piano in a stirring Gilbert and Sullivan sing-along. We remember how he could recite poetry by the yard. Real poetry!
But Jerry was so modest that he would frown upon our praise; he never sought praise, never wished for compliments and looked upon applause as flattery.
