N. Korean Ex-Premier Reported Dead Is Sighted

TOKYO —
A top North Korean official who was reported dead last month viewed a military parade on Friday in the capital, the reclusive country’s official radio said today.
The reported appearance was former Premier Kang Song San’s first in public since Jan. 1, 1996, according to Tokyo’s Radiopress agency, which monitored the broadcast by Korean Central Radio.
Kang was among several officials who attended the Pyongyang parade marking the 65th anniversary of the founding of North Korea’s military, according to the report.
