Three Army officers at Ft. Bliss have been discharged from the military and sent to prison for sexual misconduct, officials said Friday.

The three, whose terms range from three months to 20 months at Ft. Leavenworth, Kan., were named in a complaint that accused 19 officers and soldiers at the base of sexual misconduct with female enlisted soldiers. Nine other soldiers named in the complaint have already received administrative punishments.

“I want to make it clear that this was not a ring of offenders,” Ft. Bliss spokesman Tom Collins said. “They were all separate and distinct cases.”

The three officers pleaded guilty at court-martial hearings in the past few weeks. Second Lt. Trevor Gordon was sentenced to 20 months; Maj. Eddie Brenham was given six months; Capt. Ivan Brown got three months.

Thirteen former and current employees have pooled together in a class-action lawsuit against Ft. Bliss, demanding $4 million from the base for allegedly allowing sexual misconduct and harassment. The case is set for trial in August.
