It Happened to Capra

Thank you so much for printing that lovely remembrance of Frank Capra (“The Wonderful Life of Frank Capra,” May 17).

It was a beautiful memory to those of us who remember his “Wonderful Life” so fondly.

Michael Thomas’ 1983 interview with Frank Capra was itself a wonderful insight into one of the most obscure aspects of Hollywood--the insider’s uncensored personal experience. The myth of Hollywood is often so blinding that the humanity cannot be seen through the glare. Publicists, of course, are delighted and their rates go up. I, however, find the demystifying of such figures as Chaplin and Gable to add a welcome humanity to the legend that is Hollywood.

Thank you for sharing.
