Pope Praises Jews, Attacks Abortion

Pope John Paul II paid tribute to Jews, millions of whom died in Nazi concentration camps in Poland, and praised their common heritage with Poles in his homeland. The pope also repeated his attacks on abortion, condemning the practice as barbaric at an open-air Mass attended by 100,000 people in Kalisz.
