Levi Strauss & Co. named Tom Fanoe president of the Levi’s brand of jeans and casual wear for the United States, effective immediately. Levi said Fanoe, 51, will be responsible for all aspects of the Levi’s brand business in the U.S. market, including product development, merchandising, marketing, sales and operations. Fanoe will lead this year’s launch of the Levi’s brand’s largest marketing drive ever. Fanoe, who has been with Levi Strauss & Co. for 28 years, replaces George Porter, who announced his early retirement in April. Levi Strauss, based in San Francisco, is the world’s largest branded-apparel manufacturer, with about 37,500 employees worldwide. Its brands also include Dockers and Slates casual sportswear and dress pants.
