Opportunities for Volunteering

Heal the Bay, an environmental group, is holding a volunteer orientation July 14 at the Heal the Bay office. Call (310) 581-4188, Ext. 137, for more information. A fund-raising volleyball tournament for Heal the Bay is planned July 19 at Will Rogers Beach, south of Temescal Canyon Road, Pacific Palisades.

The Sycamores, a foster family-based treatment program, needs volunteers to provide safe, loving homes for infants, toddlers, school-age children and adolescents. Hospice Preferred Choice, formerly the Olsten Kimberly QualityCare Hospice, needs volunteers to help hospice patients and their families. No special experience or education needed. Volunteers are also needed to do clerical work and help at special events. An orientation session is planned Saturday and Sunday in Chatsworth. Call (310) 475-3442.
