“The most memorable bottle of wine I had recently was a 1996 Alderbrook Sauvignon Blanc. I hate to say it, but I picked it up at the grocery store. It’s just a regular bottle of wine, but I had it at dinner with boiled potatoes, marinated beets and poached fish. It was very fruity but pleasantly so. It was full-bodied and had really great depth of flavor, but not a lot of wood. It wasn’t a particularly outrageous wine, but it was a very nice bottle, and I’ll buy it again.”
