Splash update--Given its 7-5 victory Wednesday over first-place Seattle, the Splash seems to have found its stride. After losing six consecutive road games, it has won three of its last four and tries to win for the seventh time in its last eight games. The league’s player of the week, midfielder Danny Barber (18 goals, 13 assists) has more than half his points (nine goals, seven assists) over the last five games. Forward Bernie Lilavois (29 goals, 12 assists) has 11 goals and three assists over the last six, and is tied for second in goal-scoring. The Splash has a league-best 7-1 home record.

Knight update--The second-place Knights trail Seattle by 2 1/2 games and lead the Splash by a half-game in the Western Division. They possess one of the league’s stingiest defenses, but lost its fifth game in a row, 6-4, to Eastern Division leader Monterrey on Wednesday. Goalkeeper Dan Madsen has beaten the Splash once this season, 8-6, in Sacramento--a game the Splash led in the fourth quarter.
