Uzbekistan Tips

Thank you for your excellent article on travel in Uzbekistan (“Islamic Intrigue,” Nov. 9). This past June I spent three weeks traveling through Uzbekistan, with accommodations arranged by American-International Homestays. It was an outstanding experience. AIH is a wonderful organization. Both its staff and hosting families were professional, helpful and dedicated. I also recommend traveling through Uzbekistan by public bus. The hospitality, politeness and friendliness of both the passengers and the drivers more than makes up for any physical discomfort.
