Unwanted Dogs

Thank you, Patt Morrison, for your great column (“It’s a Dog’s Life, and Death,” Dec. 12). It’s important to keep reminding people out there just how many unwanted dogs there are and how many are put to death. People need to be educated. And people who think they are the exception to the rule can pay the $500 license fee. I am sick of seeing overcrowded shelters with dogs that were dropped off by their owners for having an “accident” on the carpet. There are too many sad stories to tell.

Hopefully, people will think twice before going to the pet store to buy an overpriced sickly puppy and will go to the shelter instead and save a life.
