The city’s redevelopment agency has selected C.I.M. Group LLC, a Los Angeles-based real estate developer and management company, to complete the retail section of a long-awaited downtown promenade.
The Birch Street project will encompass six retail buildings of more than 63,000 square feet along a pedestrian promenade anchored by an Edwards Theater.
According to plans, the developer will build one- and two-story buildings ranging from 5,000 to 28,000 square feet, and include about 25 retail shops and restaurants.
Redevelopment of the city’s downtown, which began more than a decade ago, is expected to be mostly completed by 1999.
