Southland Home Sales, Prices Rise in Nov.

The median price of all homes and condominiums sold in Southern California in November surged 6.8%, to $172,000, from the same month last year, according to Acxiom/Dataquick Information Systems, a real estate research firm. The number of properties sold in November rose 8.8% to 18,257 properties in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura counties. Sales and prices rose in each county, with the median sales price in Los Angeles County showing a year-over-year gain of 5.6% to $171,000. Ventura reported the largest price increase--11.3% to $207,000--and San Bernardino the smallest at 1.7% to $123,000.
