Anthony T. Ulasewicz; Watergate ‘Bagman’
Anthony T. Ulasewicz, 79, a self-described “bagman” who carried cash from the Nixon administration to early Watergate defendants. He went to work for the White House in 1969 after retiring as a New York City police detective. Later, he asserted that he could have done a better job than the Watergate burglars had he been given the chance. He was convicted of filing false income tax returns in 1971 and 1972 and sentenced to a year’s probation. On Wednesday in Glens Falls, N.Y., of cardiac arrest.
