Eve Slaff; Civil Liberties Activist

Eve Slaff, 85, widow of former Beverly Hills Mayor and American Civil Liberties Union leader George Slaff and a civil liberties activist in her own right. She was a longtime member of the ACLU Foundation Board. For many years, her robe and lounge wear manufacturing firm was one of the few union shops in the Los Angeles garment industry. She was also a founding board member of the Constitutional Rights Foundation, which conducts many legal education projects in public schools. On Sunday in her Beverly Hills home of cancer.
