Publisher Slain

Re the death of Mexican publisher, Benjamin Flores Gonzalez:

Benjamin Flores Gonzalez crusaded against the narco corruption in his country. He was murdered as a lesson to all those who speak out. In a nation that is so dominated by narco money, narco power and narco violence, speaking out is dangerous. Too often, those valiant enough to speak out are silenced.

In this nation, narco corruption has not spread to the degree that we must fear speaking out. What are you doing? In this freest of all nations, what each of us does can make a difference. The idea that we can’t stop the flow of drugs into this nation is absurd. If we swallow that line, we are fools, and will deserve the narco domination which will soon freely silence our citizens, publishers, ministers and teachers who oppose the narco-power brokers.
