Russian Reportedly Grabs Tank to Get Drink
Associated Press
MOSCOW —
A thirsty Russian soldier reportedly commandeered a tank to drive to a liquor store but was unable to break through the defenses of wary traffic police.
The serviceman, from a unit of the Ural Military District near Yekaterinburg, took the tank from a field depot Friday while a guard was sleeping, the Itar-Tass news service said Tuesday.
But traffic police nabbed him soon after he left the base.
The soldier’s fate wasn’t publicly known.
