Bullfrog update--Tom Woods, a defenseman on the Canadian national team, scored a goal and was impressive in his first game with the Bullfrogs, a 7-6 sudden-death shootout victory over the Blades Sunday at the Pond. Defenseman B.J. MacPherson also notched a goal with some heads-up skating. Victor Gervais has climbed to fifth in assists this season Roller Hockey International with 34 despite playing in only 13 games. The Blades tried to slow Gervais with tight checking Sunday and are expected to do so again tonight.

Blade update--Doug Ast has extended his goal-scoring streak to 15 games, tying the Roller Hockey International record set by New Jersey’s Tony Szabo earlier this season. The Western Division leaders are four points ahead of San Jose and two points ahead of the Bullfrogs. They play Saturday at St. Louis. Goaltender Billy Pye is second in the league with a 5.56 goals-against average. Jeff Ferguson has a 6.39 GAA.
