China’s President Jiang Zemin is more interested in trade than he is in democracy and civil rights. He might be convinced if enough of us stopped buying items made in China.

Jiang might learn a lesson in democracy if American consumers vote a resounding no to his brand of totalitarianism.

One only has to read Chinese history from 1840 to 1940 to see that China is now on the right side of history contrary to what President Clinton declared. It was a period of foreign conquest, subjugation, control, humiliation and deprivation.
