IRS Invites Taxpayers to ‘Problem Solving Day’

Share

Taxpayers can meet face to face with Internal Revenue Service employees to discuss their tax problems Saturday at the agency’s district office in Laguna Niguel.

Billed as “Problem Solving Day,” the event is part of the agency’s commitment to be more taxpayer friendly following Senate hearings in September that highlighted IRS abuses.

The IRS district office is in the Chet Holifield Federal Building, 24000 Avila Road. Taxpayers can meet with IRS employees from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. but are advised to call (714) 360-2178 for an appointment. People wanting to discuss their tax cases should bring relevant documents.

Future “Problem Solving Days” will be scheduled next month and through March 1998 in Riverside, San Diego, Santa Ana and Long Beach.
