A local car dealership is proposing to develop a 10-acre lot on Camino Capistrano, bringing two new car dealerships to the city.

Owners of Weseloh Honda want to move their dealership from its Camino Capistrano location to one about a half-mile up the road, next to the newly opened Family Toyota.

They plan to split the vacant property at Stonehill Drive and Camino Capistrano between Honda and a new Chevrolet dealership. A second new dealership, yet to be announced, would be moved into the existing two-acre site where Honda cars are now sold.

The city already is home to about 10 dealerships, including Volkswagen, Saturn, Jeep-Eagle- Plymouth-Dodge, Nissan, Toyota and Ford, said Thomas Tomlinson, director of planning.

The request requires approval from the City Council and Planning Commission.
