District Hires Consultant for School Bond Measures

The Inglewood Unified School District has hired political consultant Larry Tramutola to explore a school bond measure for the district and educate residents about how the money would be used.

The district entered into a $5,000 monthly contract with Tramutola on Nov. 1 that calls for the Oakland-based company to assist the district in developing a master plan, evaluate school sites and organize community educational meetings. The contract will run a minimum of eight months.

Tramutola Co. has managed 59 school bond campaigns in California over the last three years, 55 of which have succeeded, including measures in the Pasadena and Las Virgenes school districts last week.

District officials are hoping Tramutola will have equal success in helping to convince Inglewood voters that a bond is needed to pay for aging classrooms and buildings.

“He has a great success record,” said Board President Loystene Irvin, adding that no dollar amount or election date has been set for the proposed bond measure. “He needs to help us strategize so we can move forward and help us move forward and show residents that they are stake holders in the education process.”
