Christmas Already?

You think the holidays are creeping up too quickly? Consider those people--designers, merchandise buyers and retailers--who have been living with the tinsel and doodads for months.

Roger’s Gardens in Corona del Mar hosted its first holiday party in early October--11 weeks before Hanukkah and Christmas. In between, it has hosted a few fund-raisers and invitees-only events that brought eager oglers to stand in line.

Yes, stand in line just to walk past the dangling ornaments and towering trees. For the 450 supporters of Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian’s 552 Club, the lure was a long look at the hundreds of Christopher Radko glass blown ornaments.

Now it’s your turn.

It’s time to start decking your halls. . . or at least talk about it.

The Times Orange County will present its annual guide to the county’s best-dressed residential areas Dec. 13. It will feature neighborhood holiday displays that involve a number of homes rather than spotlighting individual efforts.

If your street, cul-de-sac, block or tract is lighting up this season, please let us know by writing to Lynn O’Dell at The Times Orange County, 1375 Sunflower Ave., Costa Mesa, CA 92626, or calling her at (714) 283-5685.

We need to know the name of the street and city; what you are doing; the hours people can drive by to see your display; and the name and phone number of someone we can contact for more information. Deadline is Dec. 6.
