Share

Oxnard and Port Hueneme police officers this week will conduct a license and sobriety checkpoint, the 21st this year and the 46th since the program began in 1994.

The check, which will take place at an undisclosed location in Port Hueneme, will begin Saturday at 7 p.m. and run until 2 a.m. Police officers will look for unlicensed drivers, as well as drivers under the influence of drugs or alcohol, authorities said.

The checkpoints are paid for by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety. The checkpoints will continue at least twice each month until December 1998.
