Foundation Pledges $100 Million to University

ST. LOUIS —
A gift of $100 million was pledged to Washington University by the Danforth Foundation, a charitable organization headed by former Sen. John C. Danforth, the university said Saturday.
The gift is to be delivered over the next five years, said university spokesman Fredric Volkmann.
The money will be used to fund biology, biomedical sciences and social sciences programs, the university said.
