Twelve people were arrested during a recent sting against Simi Valley businesses that sell alcoholic beverages to minors.

Between Oct. 30 and Nov. 13, officers from the Police Department’s special enforcement section used teenage decoys in an attempt to purchase alcohol at 68 restaurants, stores and mini-markets across Simi Valley, Chief Randy Adams said.

Employees at 12 businesses sold alcohol to a decoy, officials said.

In each case, the employee was arrested and released after being cited for a misdemeanor, Adams said.
