Church Seeks Help for Poor on Thanksgiving
Volunteers, turkeys, clothes and monetary donations are being solicited at Home Front Church, which will be providing its annual Thanksgiving Day dinner to more than 600 homeless people this year.
Pastor Ed Borrowe said volunteers are needed to pass out fliers announcing the free meal in some of Orange County’s poorest neighborhoods, parks, freeway underpasses and homeless shelters. They also are needed to serve the meals from 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday.
Cooked turkeys, hams and other foods will be accepted on the day of the event. In addition, donations of diapers, toiletries, emergency supplies, blankets, jackets, gloves, caps and socks are needed to give to the homeless.
