More than 400 people are expected to raise about $40,000 at the third annual HeartWalk on Saturday in Thousand Oaks.
Sponsored by the Conejo division of the American Heart Assn., the three-mile walk is intended to raise money for research aimed at preventing heart attacks and strokes.
Participants will include people ranging in age from 6 to 60 who will wear red caps signifying their survival after some form of heart disease.
“By wearing red caps, survivors of cardiovascular disease put a face on heart disease and stroke,” said Jay Bayles, co-chairman of the event.
Registration for the HeartWalk will begin at 7 a.m., and the event begins at 8. Call 445-7050 for more information.
