Workshop to Focus on El Nino Preparedness
Want to know how to get ready for El Nino?
The Huntington Beach emergency services office can show you how through its workshop “El Nino Preparedness” at 7 p.m. Nov. 6 in City Council chambers, 2000 Main St.
Among topics covered, the workshop will teach residents how to properly use sandbags and where to get them for free, how to check for leaky roofs, and how to clean drains and rain gutters.
Residents will be told what supplies to keep around and how to deal with contaminated water, power and phone failures.
The workshop is free, but early registration is strongly advised.
For those who cannot attend, the workshop will be videotaped and later broadcast on the city’s government access cable channel.
