Class Sizes

Share

I read your Oct. 7 editorial with great glee. The secret is finally out! All it takes for children to get a good education are smaller class sizes, teachers who are committed to their education and principals who are committed to supporting teachers. Here’s the rub. It takes money to get classes down to a manageable size in which teachers can perform miracles.

Now the question is (as it has always been), is the education of our children the most important job we can undertake or is it somewhere down the line in the list of priorities? How far? Farther down the list than building a new sports stadium? I believe we have a lot of thinking to do about what choices we are making in this community.
