Monday Is Deadline to Enter Chili Cook-Off

Monday is the last day for cooks to join celebrity chef Jonathan Slavin in the Chili Cook-Off at the Silverado Days fair next weekend.

Slavin, who stars in the new NBC comedy “Union Square,” is a member of one of 20 teams that will compete at noon Sunday at Peak Park on Knott Avenue and El Dorado Drive.

The cook-off caps off the four-day Silverado Days, which begins at 3 p.m. Thursday and ends Sunday. Organizers expect about 200,000 people to attend.
