The Hispanic Organization for Personal Excellence, or HOPE, a nonprofit group based in Thousand Oaks, is holding a workshop Saturday for people interested in becoming United States citizens.

The workshop, HOPE’s fourth this year, will be held at the Thousand Oaks High School library, 2323 N. Moorpark Road, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The workshop will cost $50, which HOPE will use to process the citizenship application, photos and fingerprints, and $95 must be paid to the Immigration and Naturalization Service for processing. Payment must be in the form of checks or money orders.

“The Hispanic community, and minority groups in general, are increasing in this area,” said group founder Miguel Osornio. “It’s important to have the workshops in the Conejo Valley so people can vote and become more a part of this community.”
