Jewish Families of Camarillo has adopted the name JFC-Temple Ner Ami.
“The new name reflects that we serve Ventura County residents both as a reform synagogue and a community center,” said temple President Teri Milner. “The Hebrew addition means ‘light of my people’ and was chosen by the congregation.”
JFC-Temple Ner Ami Shabbat family services will be offered three Friday evenings each month and are open to anyone interested in practicing Judaism. A wine and cheese reception will be held at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 1 at the synagogue at 4098 Calle Tesoro, Suite D, in Camarillo.
The congregation of 150 families also offers holiday services, adult education classes and a religious school for kindergarten through seventh grade. For more information, call 388-3824.
