Boy, 10, Is Sentenced for Spike Slaying
A 10-year-old boy was sentenced to state custody and could be held until he is 21 for killing a friend by plunging a metal fence spike into his head.
The boy sentenced Thursday had been convicted earlier this month of juvenile charges of involuntary manslaughter in the July 25 killing of 12-year-old Tireese Glover.
The attacker apparently had become upset after some older boys told him to leave them alone. Police said he pulled up a piece of decorative fencing from a flower garden and struck Glover. The spike punctured Glover’s skull, and he died several days later.
The killer was sent to a foster home.
