British Consul to Talk on Education Issues
Saddleback College is hosting the Honorable Merrick Baker-Bates, the British consul general in Los Angeles, who will speak Wednesday about the importance of international education.
Baker-Bates is consul general for Southern California, Arizona, Utah, Hawaii and Clark County, Nev. He took the position in 1992. A graduate of Oxford University, majoring in modern history, Baker-Bates has worked in various British diplomatic capacities in Belgium, Japan, Washington, D.C., and Malaysia.
The event, sponsored by the Associated Student Government, is free and will be in Room 212 of the Student Services Center, 28000 Marguerite Parkway.
