Meeting Held on Plan for 38-Story Building
More than 100 people attended a public hearing Monday to discuss a proposal to build a 38-story office building near the Century City Shopping Center, officials said.
AP Properties, owner of a parking lot on Constellation Boulevard between Avenue of the Stars and Century Park East, has proposed building 770,000 square feet of office space on the site, said Cindy Starrett, attorney for the company.
City Councilman Mike Feuer, who represents the area, spoke against the project. Jane Blumenfeld, his chief of staff, said Feuer believes the level of “unmitigated” traffic that would be generated by the building would be unacceptable.
Starrett said the developer has proposed transit centers for buses and shuttles and is working to find additional ways to reduce traffic.
A Planning Commission hearing is scheduled Dec. 11, Starrett said.
