Police Using Grant to Upgrade Technology
A recent federal Law Enforcement Block Grant is going toward computer equipment in the Police Department.
Police Chief James Cook said the computers will link patrol officers with the station and enable them to receive information on suspects faster. The computers also will link the department with the County Jail.
The $106,000 grant will be used to buy 20 Pentium workstations, laptop computers for patrol cars, software and printers, according to Cook’s report.
