Restaurant’s Permit Extended to December

The owners of La Terrazza Restaurant can keep their permit for live entertainment at least until December, the City Council decided this week.

The council in August came close to revoking the permit for the Mexican restaurant, at 6197 Ball Road. Residents had complained to police about noise and violence there.

The council voted instead to modify the permit and wait 60 days to allow the restaurant to rectify the situation.

“This is a big surprise,” restaurant manager Leticia Montalbo said of the council’s latest action. “We are happy with their decision and hope to keep working with the community and the city.”

The council found that since August, police have made regular visits to the establishment and found less noise and less live music.

The council voted 4 to 1 to leave the permit in force pending a review in early December.
