Council Offers $25,000 Reward in Slayings
The Los Angeles City Council on Wednesday approved a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the stabbing deaths of Nancy Boehm and her son Shawn in their North Hollywood home in September.
On Sept. 20, the bodies of Nancy Boehm, 57, a former employee of the General Motors assembly plant in Van Nuys, and Shawn, 23, who had a mental disability and enjoyed playing basketball in the Special Olympics, were discovered in their home by a family friend who was concerned that he had not seen them in a week.
The two, who had multiple stab wounds, were found in separate bedrooms of the house, where they had lived for 20 years.
Det. Rocky Sherwood of the Los Angeles Police Department’s North Hollywood Division said authorities had no leads in the case. The police department will hold a press conference this morning in front of the Boehms’ house at 5723 Riverton Ave. to announce the reward, Sherwood said. “We don’t have a lot. We’re pleading for the public’s help with this,” Sherwood said.
