Hebron Road Opens to More Arab Traffic

From Times Wire Reports

Scores of Jewish settlers took to Hebron’s streets to protest the opening of a main road to more Palestinian traffic as part of an Israeli-Palestinian peace deal. Israel eased the restrictions on Shuhada Street about 3 1/2 years after closing it to Palestinians after a Jewish settler killed about 30 Arabs in a Hebron mosque. But Palestinians complained that they were still denied full road access. Shuhada Street is in the area of Hebron still under Israeli occupation. It links two Jewish enclaves in the heart of the city and was closed by Israel to Palestinian traffic to prevent friction with settlers.
