The Justice Department said Tuesday that it had sued to revoke the U.S. citizenship of a man accused of being a guard at Nazi concentration camps during World War II.

It said the denaturalization complaint was filed in federal court in Missouri against Michael Negele, 77, who allegedly concealed his wartime activities when he immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1950.

The lawsuit said Negele, a St. Peters, Mo. resident, served as a Nazi armed guard at a concentration camp near Berlin from 1943 through mid-1944 and was then transferred to another concentration camp in Poland.
