Woman to Face Murder Charge in Death of Son
A 31-year-old woman has been ordered to stand trial on a homicide charge for allegedly killing her 18-month-old son.
Andre Gonzalez died June 27, 1996. His mother, Maurania Gonzalez, allegedly told investigators her son fell from a table.
In a West Covina Municipal Court pretrial hearing Monday, Los Angeles Chief Deputy Medical Examiner Dr. Lakshmanan Sathyavagiswaran testified that the toddler’s injuries are consistent with blunt force trauma, officials said.
Municipal Judge Rudolph M. Treu ordered Gonzalez to stand trial on one count of homicide and one count of child abuse. She has pleaded not guilty to those charges.
