Developer to Downsize Proposed Development

Share

The developer of a massive housing development on a nursery in Azusa is expected to announce that the project will be reduced from 2,103 units to 1,800, a city official said.

The proposed downsizing of the Rosedale development comes after a city draft environmental impact report for the project suggested that its density be reduced.

City Councilman Dick Stanford said details of the reductions in size of the Rosedale housing project will be made public next Wednesday by developer Lewis Homes.

The developer could not be reached for comment.

But Stanford said he was told by officials of the development firm that the number of dwellings will be cut 15%, with fewer townhomes and apartments and more single-family homes. The Rosedale development is planned for about 500 acres of the Monrovia Nursery in northeast Azusa.
