Symbolic Displays Inc., a Santa Ana aerospace manufacturer, has received one of Lockheed Martin Corp.’s highly sought-after Star supplier awards. Symbolic is one of only 60 of the defense giant’s 1,300 key subcontractors to be honored.

The designation gives Symbolic preference over other bidders for some of Lockheed’s contracts. Symbolic had to have a 98% on-time delivery record and a zero rejection rate with Lockheed’s Aeronautics Material Management Center to win the award.

Symbolic, with 58 employees and an annual payroll of $2 million, makes keyboards, lighting products and display panels for government and commercial markets.
