$3.7-Mil Sale Is ‘Dundee’ Deal

“Crocodile Dundee” star PAUL HOGAN, who is returning this fall for a third TV season as spokesman for the Subaru Outback, has sold his Mulholland Drive home for about $3.7 million, sources say.

The 7,000-square-foot house, with five bedrooms and seven baths, had been owned by the Australian actor since 1990, shortly after he married Linda Kozlowski, his co-star in the two “Crocodile Dundee” movies (1986, 1988).

Hogan, who was also involved in writing the screenplays and was executive producer of “Crocodile Dundee 2,” most recently co-starred with Elijah Wood in the adventure film “Flipper” (1996).

Hogan purchased the Mulholland Drive house for about $6.5 million, sources said at the time.

Built in 1982 and refurbished before Hogan bought it, the country English-style house is on three acres west of Coldwater Canyon. The home has rolling lawns, a mountain view, tennis court, pool and spa.

In August, Hogan also put the New South Wales house he built in the late 1980s on the market at $6.5 million. The house is at Possum Creek near the beach town of Byron Bay. The property includes a timber plantation, manager’s residence and guest cottage.

Hogan has been looking to buy a smaller home in the Sydney suburbs, although he has been spending most of his time in Los Angeles.

Late actor JIMMY STEWART’S longtime Beverly Hills home has come on the market at $6.7 million.

Stewart died in July at 89. His wife, Gloria, died in 1994 at 75.

Built in 1928, their home, which they had owned since shortly after they were married in 1949, is country English in style with five bedrooms in about 6,300 square feet.

The walled and gated house, which also has two staff bedrooms and a staff dining room plus a three-bedroom guest house, is on about 1.3 acres in the flats of Beverly Hills.

Soon after buying their house, the Stewarts purchased the house next door and razed it to make way for a Victory Garden, sources have said.

The property, two legal parcels, is considered large for the neighborhood. The site also has a four-car garage.

Actor ROBERT DUVALL is nearing the end of a two-month lease of a house in the Hollywood Hills, at a rate of $15,000 a month, sources say.

Duvall, 66, wrote, directed and stars in the religious drama “The Apostle,” scheduled to be shown at the New York Film Festival now through Oct. 12. He is also executive producer of the film.

The country English-style gated house has four bedrooms in just under 5,000 square feet built in the 1950s. The home also has a gym, weight room, pool, spa and gardens.

Duvall appeared in the 1996 movies “Sling Blade,” “Phenomenon” and “A Family Thing.” He played the title role in the HBO biopic “Stalin” (1992) and won a best-actor Oscar for his role as a country singer in “Tender Mercies” (1982).

The Firestone Estate in Rancho Mirage, a three-acre home built in 1958 and owned by late industrialist and diplomat LEONARD FIRESTONE, has come on the market for the first time. It’s listed at $3.75 million.

Firestone, who died last December at 89, was a former U.S. ambassador to Belgium and an executive at the tire company founded by his father in 1900.

Leonard Firestone had purchased the land for his Rancho Mirage house from bandleader Phil Harris, who died in 1995. After Firestone built his house, he sold two lots next door to former President Gerald Ford and wife Betty. The Fords then built their desert residence there.

The Firestone and Ford homes are both in the Thunderbird Country Club, behind a Secret Service security gate.

The Firestone home has seven bedrooms and 6 1/2 baths in just under 6,000 square feet. The home also has a sunken tennis court. The house faces the pool, spa and fairway. Among the features are a wet bar, exercise room, covered outdoor living room and dual master suites.

Among Leonard Firestone’s survivors are his wife, Caroline Hudson Firestone, whom he married in 1987. They also maintained homes in Pebble Beach and in Beaver Creek, Colo.

SID KIBRICK, who played Woim in the “Our Gang” movies of the 1930s, and his wife, Greta, are listing their Beverly Hills home of 36 years at about $2.2 million.

“We bought a condominium on the Wilshire corridor and are ready for a change of lifestyle,” he said.

Kibrick developed the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Rancho Mirage and its nearby Mirada residential project with Ford and Firestone as his partners.

From the age of 4 until he was about 13, Kibrick played Woim, one of two tough kids who picked on Spanky and Alfalfa, for Hal Roach and the MGM studios.

Kibrick still gets three or four fan letters a week. “People just don’t want to forget the Little Rascals,” he said. When Roach sold 100 episodes of the “Our Gang” comedies to TV in 1955, they were renamed “The Little Rascals” because MGM owned the rights to the title “Our Gang,” sources say.

Kibrick, who became a real estate broker about six years ago, is selling his four-bedroom 5,000-square-foot home himself at Fred Sands Estates, Beverly Hills.

Film producer DEAN STOLBER, a former MGM/UA executive vice president who started out as a Broadway actor in such shows as “Bye Bye Birdie” and “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown,” has sold his Beverly Hills home for close to its last asking price of $1.2 million, sources say.

Stolber sold a 5,800-square-foot five-bedroom home, built in 1980, and he bought a newly built three-bedroom 3,000-plus-square-foot house with a den in a nearby gated community, sources added.

Stolber had spent 25 years with MGM and UA when he left there in 1995. He was involved in the “Rocky” and “Pink Panther” films as well as with the Oscar-winning “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” and “Rain Man.”

Barbara Tenenbaum of Fred Sands’ Beverly Hills Estates Directors office had his listing and represented him in his purchase, other sources said.
