A woman was arrested on suspicion of plotting the burglary of her ex-husband’s Moorpark mobile home after a witness spotted two men breaking into the house, police said Friday.

Simi Valley resident Claudia Rae Manuel, 46, was jailed Thursday evening on charges of burglary and being under the influence of a controlled substance, said Det. Robert Thomas of the Moorpark Police Department.

Earlier Thursday, a resident at the Villa Del Arroyo Mobile Home Park at 15750 E. Los Angeles Ave. in Moorpark watched as a man broke into Manuel’s ex-husband’s unit, Thomas said.

Police arrested Joseph Andrew French, 22, inside the mobile home on suspicion of burglary and being under the influence of a controlled substance. French, a Simi Valley resident, had also been sought on a $10,000 narcotics warrant, Thomas said.

Later that day, 26-year-old Eric Joseph Rawlings was arrested at his Simi Valley house after allegedly fleeing the crime scene, Thomas said.

“Manuel sent French and Rawlings to her ex-husband’s house to benefit financially from the expected theft of money,” according to Thomas’ police report.

All three suspects remained jailed Friday night. Each was being held on $20,000 bail, Thomas said.
