Free Compost Offered for Pickup Today

Residents gearing up to plant their spring gardens can bring a bucket to El Dorado High School today for free compost.

The giveaway will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m., or as long as supplies last, at the school’s north parking lot, 1651 Valencia Ave. Compost quantities are limited to 60 gallons per household.

Last year, more than 25 tons of compost was scooped up by about 160 residents. The Recycle Placentia program, a partnership between the city and its trash hauler, sponsors the event.
